Roof brick guards
Roof brick guards must be used when there is any risk of slipping on the roof, and they are mandatory for a roof inclination of 20° and above.
Either brick guards or protection nets can be attached to the brick guard support.

Technical specifications for roof brick guards
The following specifications generally apply for roof brick guards.
- With a roof angle of more than 22.5° and up to 60°, and a fall height greater than 2.0m, a roof brick guard is mandatory for roof work.
- The roof brick guard must be at least 1.0 m wider than the work area to be secured, in the longitudinal direction and on both sides.
- Decks must be secured against being lifted out.
- The distance of the protective wall from the risk-of-fall edge must be at least 0.70 m. The dimension must be measured from the edge of the eaves, not from the guttering. If this
dimension cannot be achieved, bracket widening structures must be fitted. - The width of the guard level must conform at least to Class W06 and its distance from the wall must not exceed 0.30 m.
- Roof brick guards extended using ≥ 0.70m bracket widening structures must be braced using a section brace.
- The deck of the roof brick guard must not be lower than ≥ 1.50 m below the edge of the eaves.
- Standard joints must be secured using locking pins in accordance with the instructions for assembly and use.
If protective scaffolding passes around a corner of a structure, the deck of the work scaffolding and the protective device must pass round this corner with its full width of 1.0 m
